  About Barrier Creams . . .
  • Barrier creams are topical formulations used in industry etc to protect workers' skin, by placing a physical barrier between the skin and any contaminants which might irritate the skin and subsequently cause contact dermatitis, or occupational dermatitis.
  • Barrier creams can be water repellent, but might also be required to repel certain solvents, mineral oils, acids, alkalis, ink, paints, lubricants, etc.
  • Industrial barrier creams have different formulations to protect against the type of different contaminants you encounter during work.    

 The wearing of gloves at work is an important factor to consider. If gloves come into the equation choose a glove-compatible barrier cream.
